Hello Everyone. I am an HR professional with 7 yrs experience in HR Operations (Entry Exit formalities, onboarding, employee relations, grievances, employee engagement, Personnel data & records management, day to day operations, etc.)
I am looking for a job in Bangalore, Karnataka. I received a call from a Company which is into HR tools for the 'BUSINESS ANALYST' role. Now I am a little confused should I go for it since the employer is in the HR industry or reject it because this is not my role as per my experience and might be a problem when I wish to switch in the future.
Please guide.
Regards.

Yes, I think you should not join this role because:
a) It is not aligned with your field.
b) It shall be difficult for you to explain later as to why you chose this job?
c) It would be difficult for you to go back to your core HR field.
Be patient and see if you can get something in HR which is more aligned with your vision. Just having an employer who is into HR does not help. The future company shall select you basis your job role.

Dear K2.G,
Have you checked the Job Description (JD) for the position of "Business Analyst"? Have you checked with the company what kind of analysis you will be doing related to the business?
The designation offered appears to be dynamic compared to a routine HR role, however, you may do the market research on the position of "Business Analyst". Is it that it is the role of "HR Analyst" but branded as "Business Analyst"?
When checked on Google, I found the link that describes JD for the position of Business Analyst. It is as below:
https://targetjobs.co.uk/careers-adv...heir%20clients.
Please check what skills you possess already and what skills you need to master further. Who knows, this job could be a turning point in your career. It could sow seeds of becoming "Business Head" also. However, do thorough research before you take the decision.
All the best!
