offer2021
Good day all.

Recently my sister got an offer with one of the IT consulting (starts with first letter 'T') company. She is an expert in her line of technology and she got selected. They matched her offer letter with a career band (career band which is usually given for lesser years of experience) .

She accepted the offer letter in company portal and now background verification is initiated.

Meanwhile yesterday she got another offer from a company (say X) which matched her interests , career band, salary. She was attending lot of interviews in parallel, this was a surprise for her to get selected in X.

Now she is thinking of not joining 'T' company , even though background verification has got started.

Question:

Will they ask her to pay money for background verification , well she has nearly 15 years of experience and a very experienced person who is not company switcher and this is her 3rd company in her entire 15 yrs IT career. ?

Also in the offer letter they didn't mention the exact joining date - they mentioned only 120 days from issuance of offer letter ?

Does companies in India do blacklisting of potential employees who don't join company after accepting offers ?

Note:

I have avoided using direct company name in this post - I have used first letter T . Well its a well known brand by JRD T.

Dear Offer2021,
Please provide us with the verbatim of the offer letter. While doing so, please omit personal details like the name of the candidate, salary etc. Unless we know the contents of the offer letter, now further comments can be given.
Thanks,
