Dear Vandanaa,

Any psychometric test, whether paid one or otherwise has to be reliable and valid. Accuracy of the results is of utmost importance.

While you may use the free versions however, the results may not be accurate and using the inaccurate results could do more harm than good.

The second trouble with the psychometric tests is the variation in results. Suppose you hire two companies that measure the leadership competency. Imagine you use their paid version. Nevertheless, what is the guarantee that though the tests are different, their results will be the same? If there is variation in the results then which one is correct?

Suppose you repeat the paid test a year later. What if the results vary after a year? Then which one will be correct the recent one or the results declared an year ago?

Yes, it is difficult to use the paid versions each time. However, when I discuss "Carl Jung Personality Theory" in my training programmes, I teach my participants how to assess the personality by asking right questions. However, asking the right questions is not that easy. It requires immence maturity. This maturity comes with guidance. Assessing whether the the replies are right or not requires still more matured mind. Do you have such matured staff in your company?

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
