I quit a job because I was diagnosed with depression, ADHD and suicidal tendencies. I was told I can leave on medical grounds by my boss. Now 8 months later I get legal notice to pay them 9k? Does the law not take into consideration if a person is mentally incapable of continuing work and can harm himself?

Dear member,
Your separation from the company was on medical grounds. Nevertheless, the following questions arise:
a) What terms and conditions of separation mentioned in the appointment letter?
b) When you resigned from the company, did you attach medical certificate from the certified doctor stating that you are unfit to execute your duties?
c) While resigning from the company, did you ask clearly waiver of the notice period?
d) In response to your request for the waiver of the notice period, did you get a response from the company officials stating that the notice period has been waived?
Unless we get replies to these questions, it will be difficult to comment on your case.
Thanks,

i was told my resignation will be accepted on medical grounds they did not ask for anything else. Once i left i recieved an email asking for payment of 9041 in febrauary, i replied saying that my boss had accepted my resignation on medical grounds its on record i am consulting a psychiatrist and at home not working anywhere. They never replied for 8 months and now send a legal notice asking payment.

how can a person who is suicidal and depressed be asked to continue working? which they did not they happily accepted my resignation on medical grounds and then harrass for payment ? are there no laws in this country protecting mentally ill people? or do we still think it in terms of a stigma
