What is the bonus rule? If an employee has 30 days of working days in 2019-20 and 5 days in 20-2021, will he be given bonus for both 2019-20 and 20-2021 or only for 2019-20. please help me.

As per Payment of Bonus Act, "every employee shall be entitled to be paid by his employer in an accounting year, bonus, in accordance with the provisions of this Act, provided he has worked in the establishment for not less than thirty working days in that year. "
So, employee will be eligible for only 19-20 session not for 20-21 financial year.

1) As per The Bonus Act sec 8, bonus eligible to who are worked not less than 30 working days in an accounting year.
2) And sec 10, minimum bonus required to pay every employee on any day in respect of every accounting year.

Dear colleague,
As rightly stated , the eligibility of 30 days working is during the accounting year.
In your case , if both the periods of work fall inthe same accounting year, then the same will be reckoned for bonus.

In accordance with the phrases of the Principal Act, every worker who draws a income of INR 10,000 or below per month and who has labored for now not much less than 30 days in an accounting year, is eligible for bonus with the floor of 8.33% of the salary payable to him/her and a cap at the maximum bonus statutorily payable (20% of the salary).
