Hey guys!! Need your suggestion. If we are working on 02nd Oct 2020 which is national holiday, in that case do we need to inform Labour office regarding the same.

Are you under Shops & Commercial Estts.Act or a factory or what ?
Not a crime, but since a national holiday is a paid holiday in all respects and you have to pay wages for not working on that day, you will have to pay double the daily wage or the higher rate of overtime allowance fixed for holidays in addition to the wage/ salary of the worker for his working on a national holiday.
There is no bar (not the liquor vending) to work on 2/10/2020. But if the office declares holiday whoever called to work will be treated as 'holiday work' and holiday wages has to be paid on that day. Also you may inform the Labour Office if regd.under the Factories Act. Read here in this link for further discussion on the subject -

If you are complying with provisions of Industrial Establishments (National & Festival) Holidays Act,1974, and submitting returns to Labour office, then yes, you have to inform them and express your willingness to grant another day in lieu of this holiday.
