Is it a legal requirement to maintain physical records of employee files or does maintaining digital records of the employee PFiles suffice from the compliance perspective?

Personal files (Employee Service Records) in physical form is prone to damaging, while in digital form, it can be preserved without any damage. But it is suggested that even if you are maintaining the same in digital form, please maintain the records in physical form (files) also.

Thanks Mr. Nair. However, in case the physical files are not stored is it a breach from compliance perspective. The digital files are in place though.
