Need Suggestion on:
We have a 5 storied building Factory. Upto 4th floor we have Manufacturing Facilities and on 5th Floor we want to construct dormitories for Workers. Is there any restriction as per Factories Act?
What does it mean by ‘Shelters’ as per the above Rule 47 of Factories Act?

This is okay. If the plan is approved by the Fire and Safety department and Inspector of Factories and Boilers, you can have the rest rooms on the top floor of the factory.

Rest room shall be within the factory premises but living space wherein employees reside will not be permitted. What I meant was rest rooms and not residential arrangements.
