In the competitive environment, companies are finding it tough to retain the people one side, other side workforce reduction is taking place. In this context, the people who leaves the organisations, should think of options of joining back to another company, often they may get opportunities with Educational Institutions. Will they become misfit, they could not adjust with absolute practices of communication, Transparent work culture, open door policies and Driving the people for results etc to an environment, no such practices except in commercial terms of admission of students.
Advise the people with background of technical, HR, Marketing, Sales who worked in Corporate and now looking for opportunities in the industry.

Imparting education is noble work.It is however business today.Looking from business point of view it is not bad career shift yet I am of the opinion that even if it is business it must have ethical practices and must endeavour to impart quality education with intentions to prepare future leaders with best of talents.Afterall new generations emerge from educational institutions and not only teaching faculty but the whole of education inst structure should have aim to deliver their best to produce best talents.

Hi, I moved from corporate( 26 years ) to Campus ( 6 Years ). My sincere comments are
1. There is huge gap between Corporate and Academics
2. If you do not have academic qualification, there is a problem. If you have, then there is a good scope
3. Compensation is no way in line with Corporate
4. Here also hire & fire exists
5. you should get into either Government or Autonomous institutions. smaller institution does not provide you much scope
6. Initial 2 years it is tough. It also takes time to understand where you fit in and what you want to do
7. 80% of the institutions are not professionally run or run by professionals
All the best!!!!
