Hi Girish,
All the provisions in the Payment of wages act refers to payment by cash, cheque and credit to bank a/c.of the respective employees. What's more important here is, you shall also maintain the pay roll register, where name, days worked, salary/wages paid and acknowledgement of the concerned employees are recorded which shall be produced to the Labour Inspectors on inspection. There is no exemption in any state. Even when the salary is credited to the ac of employees it's better you should obtain/retain the proof of remittances made from time to time.
