I am working in an MNC head office based in Chennai. Branch offices in Mumbai and Delhi. As I was initially posted in Chennai office, after 2 years I shifted to Mumbai office but they didn't change my location in any records. I was considered as chennai employee even though I am located in Mumbai for last 2 years with no any extra benefits. Now they are shutting down the Mumbai office and they considering to give all the employees allowances/benefits as per company closing norms.
But as I am as per records Chennai employee they are asking me to switch over there as I am entitled to no benefits offered to Mumbai employees. So far the past 2 years I didn't get even deputation allowances as well as now I am not going to get closing retrenchment benefits either shifting allowances or quitting benefits. Kindly advice me if I can appeal it legally for any of it.

The MNC cannot deny you benefits.
First of all,why were you silent for 2 years and did not get location changed?
Pl write a detailed letter to HOD and HR boss explaining your case and get it acknowledged.
If at the end of it,still benefits are denied, then think of legal action after ascertaining how much money is in question.

Anonymous, as Nathrao rightly mentioned do above steps for details corrections.
Though I am not yet clear from your post whether you wish to leave the company as Mumbai office is closing or want to go back to Chennai office. Clarity on this will able us to guide you properly.

On my personal request I asked the management to shift me to Mumbai, as they said shifting me to Mumbai officially will create ruckus and others will ask fo the same, so they didn't do any paperworks. Now as they plan to shutting down the Mumbai office they not even bothered to address me, just asking me to resign and serve the notice period or continue my work in Delhi or chennai. Am I not eligible for retrenchment policy settlement as working here for past 2 years or should I been informed on prior so I could have served my notice earlier and would have found some other job. Now its extra 3month for me to serve on notice then find a job back in mumbai. Now its both financial & mentally stressful period to be in. Kindly advice.
