Hi
Wait for the letter to be received and reply accordingly. There is no such thing as running away because of too much work. You could have put it across to your concerned HoD and informed him/her of the prevailing conditions instead of running away or shirking your responsibilities. This platform is for seeking advise when you face issues without being on the wrong side of the law.
Upon receipt of the letter you may try to talk to the management and explain your side of the issue and accept your fault, seek forgiveness and try to find a solution and face the issue head-on.
Thanks and Regards

HI,
If you have received the letter from the organisation for show cause then you shall reply to it in writing and meet HR for your clearance formalities. Please note, the letter is being issued as you are absconding from the job. If you were not planning to continue with the job then you should have resigned from the organisation and completed your clearance formalities. Which is the correct way of closing / ending up the employment with the organisation.

Hi,
You reply to the show cause notice giving valid reasons for your absconding.
Also send them a formal resignation Letter again stating the reasons for the same.
Please send both letters by registered AD mail or go personally and handover the same to HR and take acknowledgement for both the letters. You may have to offer to pay salary in Lieu of Notice, if the company so demands.
Thank you,
Regards,
