Dear Vibha,
While your intentions to train the workers are laudable, your post lacks clarity as to which industry you belong to, what is the education level of the workers, what are the burning issues in your company and so on. Above all, have you obtained the budgetary approval?
HR persons can conduct various types of training for their workers. However, what is important is conducting training programmes that serve the needs of your organisation. Therefore, before embarking on the employee training, you may take up exercise on identifying the training needs. Give preference to organisation's needs over personal needs. Before conducting the training, be clear as to how to measure training effectiveness, when it will be measured and who will measure it.
Earlier, I have given exhaustive reply on the subject of employee training. Click the following link to refer to it:

Dear Vibha,
Rightly said by Mr Dinesh, there should be some basic objectives to arrange any training like for which you want to organize the training (level of workers), budget scenario of your organization, whether the training is topic oriented or as a whole.
Because in many cases the HR is supposed to organize the training for various dept. on various topics (as per the requirements of various depts.,). However as per my opinion (as HR personnel), you can conduct training on Statutory Compliance & Employment Laws, Employee Benefits & Compensation, Attendance and Leave Policy, Maternity Benefits (separately for female staff), Team Building etc.
There can be number of topics. Now a days for employee retention and to take better output companies are giving lot of training.
However, I have prepared a general presentation of Statutory Compliance and Employment Laws, which was appreciated by many learned members. Even there was some corrections done, on basis of expert’s reviews and suggestions.
You can go through the same and give training. If any further clarification required pls feel free to contact me. However, also find attached the revised presentation which I prepared for my company.
Since there have been many changes (Amendments) done between the period, so you have to customize the presentation as per latest Amendments and your requirement. Moreover, you can include one extra slide wherein you can show Applicability and Compliance level of your company in r/o related topics.
Hope the reply will help you and serve your purpose.

As an HR u always observe your work environment, u will automatically come to know which type of training u as a HR can take. Like in my company I have noticed that office boy’s behavior was unprofessional, so I have conducted a training on office etiquettes for specially office boys. I have also conducted training on Clean Desk (people not keep their work desk clean). Then File Management or file Keeping one of the key factor.
So, u can also observer area of improvements in your work area, it can be small or big and start educating or training your employees on that.
I think u should start with such small training sessions. This will not consume more than 30 mins time, also cost efficient and more imp u itself can take these trainings.
U can also have discussions with your department head, try to identity the training needs from them and accordingly arrange the training's.
