Dear Sirs,
One of our women staff who joined on 1 st Jan 2017. working as probational staff for one year period. she worked till her 8th of pregnancy. now requesting for maternity leave from Sept 1st on. Is she eligible to get this benefit?

Probation or permanent nature of the job is not a relevant criterion for maternity leave.Since she has completed the minimum required no of days of service, she is entitled to the maternity benefits including leave.

Dear Manish,
As said by Mr. Umakanthan any employee who had worked for minimum 80 days before the date of pregnancy in any organisation is entitled for Maternity Leave benefits. Thus the said employee is entitled for the same.
