Dear All,
Have a team member who has a 4-5 yrs of work ex. She has been working in the space of L & D and wants to know what courses / certifications can she gain to excel further in the field of L & D only. She does not want HR generalist courses. Something that she can use for her current role or that would help her in the next role.
Please suggest
Cheers

Dear Saudesh,

Career planning has to be done by oneself. If the person in this case has worked in L & D department then she might have helped others in planning their career. But then why has she not written this post? L & D is part of HR even then also why the lady has hesitation to ask a query directly on this forum?

What is the nature of her industry? What is her qualification? What exactly she has done in L & D department? Did she handle delivery of the training programmes or just organised the training? Measuring the effectiveness of the training or measuring the ROI of the training programmes is the most difficult part of the trainer's career. What is her experience in this field? What are her likes or dislikes? In the course of her career in L & D for the last 4-5 years, has she taken psychometric test any time? If yes, then what is the result? Would she like to cling to her current industry or she is open to get into other industries as well?

There are so many questions associated with your post. Either you clarify on her behalf or tell her to write the post directly.

Thanks,

Hi,
When it comes to L&D person have limited choices they can try on, best certification/ qualification possible is CPLP. Its a certification course provided by American Talent development also known as American society for training and development. this will be a very costly affair but its recognized almost around the globe.
The second alternative is to do a diploma in training from ISTD ( Indian society for training and development). I recommend she takes her time to browse through both the options properly and make up the mind.
Regards,
Atul
