Mr.Okay
Dear Respected Seniors & fellow companions; In my present organisation, we are implementing Re-Hiring Policy.
As per my experience, there are some guidelines for the same viz,
1. The employee has to complete his probation.
2. The reason for leaving should not be any disciplinary issue, absconding or asked to leave.
3. Must be approved by the ex-reporting manager or the Department Head.
There is also a form/declaration which has to be filled by the employee being re-hired. Pls throw some light & give your valuable inputs.
Thanks.

Hello Mr. Okay,
Since you are into retail, hope the clause of joining from the competitor does not arise.
But it is advisable to specify the period of re-hiring i.e. no re-hiring until next 1 year OR if it is within One year of span, the person will have to join on the same salary from where he left etc.
Also you can mention the key positions / positions where re-hiring will not be applicable.

Hi Mr. Okay

It is a very nice step to re-hire your ex-employees. I suggest you to add some points for CTC you can offer to ex-employees.To avoid any conflict between present employees & ex-employees who worked together.

Like if there are two employees ABC & XYZ has joined your company on 2015. And XYZ had left on 2016 & joined other company with 30% hike. So, in this case if XYZ asked you of 30% hike. So, XYZ's CTC will be in much higher side than ABC's CTC. Though there are in same position now.

It will cause job dissatisfaction & disappointment in ABC, you might lose good employees who are associated with company for long time. It may happen that money minded employees who are just interested in getting hike will get attracted.

As HR, we also have to think about employee who are serving company from many years. So,Re-hire policy shouldn't disappointment current employees.

I know some companies who has strict policy for re-hiring. Like one IT giant has re-hire policy of same CTC or max. 15% hike on CTC employee was getting while leaving that company. So, be careful about CTC part also.

I hope this will help you..

Regards

Nain
