Hi All,
I am working in an IT firm, i have a query regarding break in certificate.
For eg : I started working in my company from 2008 - 2017 and due to some physical ailment i had to take a break of 1 year, then i started working from 2018 to 2022 , then whether i am eligible for epf pension ? please note that i have no continuous service of 10 years.
here i have mentioned a break for 1 year, if the pension is not applicable, whether the same happens if the break is even for one month also.
Please help me to solve the doubt.

If the service period is less than 10 years, you’ve option to either withdraw your corpus or get it transferred by obtaining a ‘Scheme Certificate’. Once, the service period crosses 10 years, the withdrawal option ceases .For pension, withdrawal benefit, scheme certificate etc. Contact your current employer about EPS status and ask for transfer and ask about

total 10 years EPS contribution is the requirement with either one or more than one employers, but the pension will be payable at 58+ of age.
