When is it likely that the proposed extended maternity leave from 12 to 26 weeks will be implemented for private sectors in India?

Very difficult to speculate. The parliament needs to clear the bill before its signed by the President before it becomes an act. Currently the parliamentary cosultative committee is in dialogue with various industrial bodies like CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM etc, since many of the members of these association have directly informed these bodies about their reservation. Despite this, the government is keen to pass the bill. But they want to follow the protocol. How much time it will take is any body's guess.
