Hi,
I need a sample relieving letter format for below query,
1. If company (ABC) is merged with other(DEF) and started with new company name (DEF)- In this case offer letter is on different date with old company(ABC) name and now relieving letter has to give with new company(DEF) name.
In the above case how to mention employee worked for 2 companies in one relieving letter
Regards,

HI
You can issue the relieving letter from the DEF and in that you can mention as DOJ as per the offer letter/appointment letter only. I hope you should have issued some of the letter after the change of name from ABC to DEF and that will be proof for the employee

There is no need to make a special letter or to refer to the merger.
The employee is being relieved from the new company, so it will give the relieving letter. The date of joining will be the original date.

When ABC company not in existence & already merged with DEF so you can give the certificate from existing company.

Usually it is practice that while giving relieving letter for ASB company's employee, the DEF will say "Mr. ... is relieved from the services of DEF (merged entity after merger of ABC & DEF) on........." or something worded to that effect.
In other words the relieving letter shall state that it is new entity has emerged after merger of two (or more) other companies. The same applies to 'company name changed' cases also where they invariably state formerly known as "........" .
Trust this is clear
