Dear All

I am pleased to introduce myself as a software HR Professional working

in a leading software company. I am very much happy to associate in this forum

I request my seniors of this forum to kindly show some light on the following subject which myself and collegues are experiencing being a women professional

E MAIL ABUSE:

As a HR Professional I used to reveal my email address for the candidate to post resumes and communication. But under this disguise, I am getting obscene pictures / messages, stories of filthy nature to my email ID. But I cannot identify the offender. So far I have changed my email id so many times but to my disappointment, my worries never ended. How to nab the culprits and took them for a legal remedy.

MOBILE ABUSE:

Same as above, I used to give my mobile number for the applicant to have better communication. But I am getting obscene messages and mms to my mobile. When I cross check them, I could not trace their identity. How to legally make complaint against these type of offenders

with regards to all the members

Dear Trish
Greetings!
Two things you can do for unwanted mails
1. Mail Box Dispatcher is a Spam Blocker that filters spam, viruses and other unwanted emails without receiving them. Built-in self-learning Spam Detector helps to recognize spam messages.
2.Email filtering software which sits behind an email client such as Outlook Express. It wakes up when the client starts checking email messages from the account and lists messages classifying them in three categories: viruses, spams and useful emails
You can take service desk people help.
For mobile, Since technology advanced we cant do anything.

Trisha:
There is one way about email, instead of your mail ask your IT guy to create a general mail as hr@.... com or jobs@.... .com any sort
and about giving your mobile #, dont give your # instead you can give your desk # and listen you dont need to give your Cotact details to all the candidates; you can take their contact details and tell them that you will be in touch with them
about tracing those people, you have to go to the Cyber police and lodge a complaint... they would expect the mail ID's and mobile # from you ...with which they would be in a apoition to trace them...it is simple these days
hope you have the idea now
Thanks

Hi Trisha,
check with your sys admin wrt blocking of mails from specific ids'...he will help you and as for calls to your mobile...there is a provision to block calls from numbers you don't want to receive...this depends on the make of mobile and you can also call the service provider to help you....

Well to avoid trouble and harassment, I dont reveal my real identity to anyone on net and in professional life I give my Cell nos, email ID only to trusted professionals whom I personally know.
If your company doesnt pay your mobile bills, why use it for official purpose????????????????????????????
zats my motto ....

I feel sad for you.
If you are getting such mails on your office ID, bring this to the notice of IT department. They can trace the IP address and also the person. Do not give your personal e-mail id to anyone.
Why you want the candidate to talk to you, after office hours. Give your office phone number to the candidates. If your company has given you mobile then use that number. You can complaint to the police and tell them what you are getting from X, Y, Z, number. Let them trace.
Self defence is a best defence. You need to innovate methods to defend yourself.

Sanjeev
