As Diwali festival is round the corner and i am very sure that all HR guys must be busy in organiasing events ,arranging for gifts ,Sweets etc.But i just wanted to know apart from Giving GIFTS,SWEETS what more can we do for the employees on the occassion of Diwali. ?

1- Employee get to gather alongwith their family members
2- Organising small fate/Mela (at/out side the factory premices) in which house hold (consumer durables,non durables,furniture,candles,automobile,kitchen items etc.) items are to be displayed and sold by the conmcerned party to the employees at competitive prices
3- Arranging finance on easy instalments for purchasingthe above items etc.
4- On the day of diwali festival, seniors should surprise visit to the residance of their subordinates,juniors and deliver a small token gift/crackers to the kids of the family
In our orgn. above are leaving a year long rather life long impresson

you can arrange various competitions like sweets,rangoli competition, drawing competition,mehndi, flowers or essay competition etc... and ask everyone to be traditionally dressed.have a pot lunch(that is where all the employees bring food from home and everybody share and take meals together).have a pooja on dassera day also arrange for lunch and dj or some music,for their enjoyment and refreshment.
