Dear Rajeev,
Public HR forum is not the right place to raise this query. You should have asked this query to the Director himself. Send him draft of the appointment letter and tell him to fill in the blanks.
When the Director's son joins a company, where is the question of qualification or experience? He can join any department with or without experience. He can join any department with or without knowledge too!
Thanks,

Dear Sir,
He being the Director's son, he should have exposure to all the key functional departments. Because of the added advantage of his professional qualification,he may be designated as Executive Trainee and exposed in all the departments first and then he may be made a functional head based on his expertise.

It should be the aim of MD's son to learn the work of the whole organization. Hence he should start as a TRAINEE going round all the departments and learning. At the end of the training he should start as Junior Executive and start climbing up the ladder

Being son of Directors, he can be given any post in any department without experience or whats so.
But as per my opinion, initially he should be designated as Management Trainee to maintain the code of conduct and decorum in others too.

A Director's son may eventually take over the running of the company. To enable him excel, it's ideal if he is made to undergo on-the-job training and serve as 'Executive Trainee" in each and every department. If I were him, I use the opportunity to fathom out the challenges that go with the work in each department I am attached.
After the all-round training, the Director may now choose an appropriate designation for the son to take off.....

The MD's son should be kept as executive on probation, at least for three years and should be compulsorily made to take training at almost all the grassroot operative levels to understand the requirements and rigours of jobs under each stream of company's affairs, so that he gets sufficient inputs to be able to handle important decision making positions in the coming times.
