I joined a company A in Oct-2011 with an onsite project outside India and I was sent immediately after joining but had to come back within a couple of weeks
because the project was cancelled. I had joined this company since it was a long term onsite where I could take my family along and which can ease out my financial
burden. But since the project was cancelled it shattered my dreams and then I was on bench afterwards. And there was nothing which I could foresee as pipeline projects.
Within two months time I started looking out and got an offer in COMPANY B which I was looking for a long time, it was a job to be placed abroad with permanent position and very handsome salary.
But there was a glitch, please join immediately.
I resigned from COMPANY A on 21st december and asked them to relieve me by 31st december as I had to join Company B on 4th Jan. But Company A refused and asked me to serve official notice of 3 months and was not willing to buy out the notice period.
COMPANY B was ok to hire me without COMPANY A's relieving letter so I had no other choice left and joined COMPANY B. Since I was on bench and not required to report to office in COMPANY A I took this step to join COMPANY B.

In the meanwhile of this 3 month notice period I was paid COMPANY A salary and got the relieving letter as well sitting on bench without reporting to office.

Because of this now I have overlapping employment records as such -
Company A - OCT 2011 to March 2012
COMPANY B - JAN 2012 to Current date

I want to start looking out for jobs in India now.
Is the above overlapping employment records going to create problems for me in new companies?
Should I not show the experience of COMPANY A in new companies, it wont bother me because the exp was only for few months?
Please advise.

It wont bother companies, if it is few months and the reason is acceptable. You have to explain it to HR after you got selected. They will adjust it. Thanks,

Below are personal views and not suggestions.
Generally, an employee who is on bench can request early release. Company on mutual agreement and after considering the short notice pay as per the policy can relieve the employee earlier. The company too saves on the salary to be paid to the employee for 3 months (in your case).
However there must be a strong reason as the company has not relieved you during your bench otherwise why will any company pay an employee for 3 months without reporting to office?

Thanks Amit for your update.
I had requested for an early release when I resigned but Company insisted to serve notice period and that too without notice payout option. There was no specific reason told to me rather they mentioned about this being a company policy.
I was surprised and had no choice left to join new company as I could loose that opportunity as well.
Since this is a genuine reason, And I do not want to suppress any employment record when I join a new company going forward, my question is will it going to be a problem (Overlapping employment records)?
Need your suggestions further. Thanks for your help.
