Dear Ms Gauri Tomar,
I do not know why you have written this post, what was the logic behind this post. The entire post is without any numbers. Therefore, I do not think that your arguments are based on study or survey of the society. The post is suitable for some magazine that espouses feminism. The way you have written your post, one can infer that we live in dark ages wherein women are inferior entities. Your post is for which country? Is it for India? Yes, India has these problems. But then with 1.25 billion as the population, you will have a wide spectrum of society wherein each shade is so big that you will find diversity within the shade itself.
As a woman there are hardships nevertheless, harassment happens from either side. Do you know how many men commit suicide because of the false implication under Section 498-K? That is one of the most dreaded section of CrPC of India. Matrimonial laws are heavily tilted in favour of women. Go to family court and find out how women have taken undue advantage of this tilt.
Your article could have become balanced provided you had written about the opposite side also.
Last but not the list, instead of cursing the current state of affairs, you could have written what have you done to change the situation even by a ounce. Your article would have acquired credibility even if you had not mentioned the opposite side.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
