Dear alll...
I had these Questions Bothering me from a long time......
Has the introduction of CITEMAN- cartoon character made any difference to CiteHr???
Do you think all the effort, money & time pumped into the concept was worth it????
PLease put in your views to throw light on these burning questions....

Not much as far as I am concerned...
But I think that it is because of less Exposure.....
Maybe the character should be visible on the main page alongwith the CiteHR logo...
Maybe that would attract more people towards the cartoon strip....

Well I think Ajmal is right and strangely just today I was working on the new header, which would have a new structure and is based on CiteMan. Will probably get it done in a couple of days.
I guess our older members will take a bit more time to adjust to the new character as the mascot of the website network but I think it was definitely worth the money and effort as it will help bring all the network websites under one header domain.
By the way if you haven't checked out the re-designed CiteMan website which also features a management articles section - now is a good time to check it out. :icon1:

Well it's never really early to introduce any concept and since we do not have a big budget to plan a massive launch and neither a large work force to work on the website development - this was probably the only way to do it.
I have always rolled out new features one at a time and I can understand that a concept like this will take more time for acceptance.
One of the reasons why I wanted to create a network was because I felt a lot of subject areas could not be included under the HR head.
I really appreciate that at last someone is willing to talk about these things - it really helps when things are discussed well and we know exactly what the members want.

I was trying to link up the charachter to the objective of this site, I couldn’t find one.

Hi Rajnish,
The idea is to link up the idea of the character to CiteHR. Citeman is not a part of CiteHR - it's actually the other way around. CiteMan is the header domain and CiteHR, CiteSales, CiteFin and CiteOps are the branches to create specialized communities.
Every company uses tools and ideas to create brand awareness - like a logo, some catch line, some use sound or maybe even a special service. The idea of CiteMan is to give that brand identity to this network.

CHR,
Thanks for the clarification. I think its a noble concept but not a very attention seeking one, will be glad to know the how the branding is adding to the popularity and profitability of this effort.
Thanks
Rajnish

Hi,
I am thankful that Ajmal brought up this point. I didn't read The CiteMan Manifesto till until a few weeks ago since it failed to capture my attention. (there were very interesting forums and discussions to read) And finally when I did read it, I could not get the purpose of it. And till now, I have been waiting for another one of the manifestos!
Somewhere, the whole concept of creating a CiteMan as a brand identity to the network seems to have gotten lost. This post really helped in clarifying the whole idea. Though, I am not very fascinated by the whole "super-things" that the mascot can do, but I think it's a great effort.
Thank you.
Regards,
Vinisha.

Hi Vinisha,

Thanks for your comment. I know that the character still hasn't caught the attention of many users. Even Rajat didn't see the link to the story before I showed it to him. I will be merging the entire network - it'll probably take a few days more.

The idea that you “thought” or “wondered” about "when" the next CiteMan story will be published is the sole purpose of the character. There are many visitors who come - read - and go away. A mascot or a central character and a story behind the network helps user connect to the website. All the interesting discussions you speak of are there because more and more people have stuck to the website and it's an effect of those small measures which are taken as a part of the development strategy.

It's pretty difficult to retain visitors cause usually they will only spend a few seconds on a website - unless they see something that they want to explore. So a corporate super hero is something which I thought would be intriguing to most users - even if they are looking for a "relieving letter format"

Hope I have been able to explain it better now.

Rajnish: The branding is yet to take it's effect - once I get the network sites integrated it'll become more visible. But as said earlier it'll take time. As for the profitability - well you'll have to wait for the IPO to get those details. :icon1:
