Hi,
This is the second company that I am working for from the past 1 year.I was asked by my current employer to give me the pf account number of the previous organisation
(i.e. my first organisation), the HR of current company had told me that they would submit the PF component that i was eligible for every month to the existing pf account( pf account from the my first org). They said since they did not have their own establishment code as it its a small firm <15 people. Now I haven't received the form-16 after repeatedly asking for it...I am kinda naive when it comes to HR technicalities. I am wondering as to whether sending money to the existing pf account is at all possible by a new employer.
Kindly help.

Hi,
To get things right the PF transfer happens from the previous company to the current company not the other way round as you have mentioned.
Secondly to check if PF remittance is being made against your name you can log into the PF dept website and check on the same. They will have the details of all remittance made against your name/ account. You can also check there if the company has been registered under PF and the establishment number can be obtained from there.
For the Form 16 it is mandatory for the employer to give you the copy of it. You can log into the IT dept website and check if remittance have been made for the tax deducted. You can also check form 26A which is available on the IT dept site. If nothing is showing there then you need to seriously follow up with your employer on the status.
Hope this helps & all the best.

It is better to get your PF account of your earlier establishment settled - get back the money from EPFO since your new organisation is not covered under EPF. They cannot credit your EPF contribution to the old account. That is, perhaps, a false promise they have made. Rectify the situation immediately otherwise you will be taken for a ride by them.
