Hi Jayashree,
I see no reason why the trouser and blazer cannot be Dry Cleaned and re-used, or at least placed in stock for future use.
However, if the company policy is to dispose of these items, then they should be put to good use.
In my company, our employees are required to wear business suits which the company supplies (not quite a uniform).
When they are no longer required we Dry Clean them and give them away to Charities/NGO's who work with unemployed people to use when attending interviews and starting new jobs. This helps in making a good first impression.
I hope the above helps.

Greetings Jayashree,
If these uniforms are indeed good,
a) Shirts - Many charitable institutions maintaining senior citizens will be willing to take these as they will find it quite useful.
b) Shirts, Trousers and Blazers - Security agencies with similar colour shades will be willing to take them. Blazers will be for their field officers who meet clients for business prospects. May be they will be even willing to pay a price for it.
c) Shirts, Trousers - We find numerous apartments deploying work force for maintaining the apartments and they will be willing to pay a price for these.
d) Shirts, trousers & Blazers - Several housekeeping agencies extend manpower for carrying out housekeeping activities and these agencies will also be willing to pay a price for these.

Uniforms allotted to staff, which can not be reused for other.
We have to form rules & regulations about uniform codes.
First one year there should not be uniform or dress code.
From second year on wards, reuse of uniform problem may not arise or minimized.

Hi Jayashree,
Why not look out for some option like have it given to the employees as a part of their yearly benefit?
May be we can look out for some option like a subsidy in the uniform for the employees to buy, so that they are not a cost falling on to the company.
Thanks,

Do not ask for uniforms back. Just ensure that company logo/ sticker/ Name gets removed from uniform.

Hi Jay
According to my opinion if your uniform is having any type of company logo then you no need to give it to any NGO.
First of all remove all logo with uniform and you can reuse all old uniform as a old cloth in your company.
this is the standard practice which is follow presently.

Dear All,
As per me we should not collect back the company provided uniform from the resigned employees.. instead we can form a policy where in it can be defined the period/frequency for which uniform supplied. like if its given for a yearly basis we have to fix the cost for that uniform and if any employee resigns from the services of the company, employees should pay the cost on prorata basis instead of re-collecting the used uniform.
with regards
