Hello everyone,
Although I am an old member, this is my first question on this forum.
I have been working since 2002 - 2012 in the hospitality and Human Resources sector.
Due to childbirth last year June 2012, I have been a homemaker raising up my baby.
I am now planning to start work in Mumbai but would like to update my CV first. How can I fill the gap of 1.6 years. Can I mention that I was a homemaker during that time? What details should I mention.
Your valuable suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Marianne

Dear Marianne
Welcome back !!!!
In your case there is a genuine ground or reason for not being in employment for 1.6 years.
Why should it be made mandatory that every person should continuously work, without any break, till he dies or becomes physically unfit to perform any job???
There is nothing wrong in taking a break to have a child or raising up children. Home and family are vital aspects of humanity and social system.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is insane or irrational.
Please fill in the correct facts in your CV and be firm and brave to defend your decision on the break.
Warm regards.
