Dipu Barman
Dear HR Seniors,
I am doing distant MBA in Finance & Banking and it will complete in April’14. But before joining MBA I have selected by a Cement manufacturing unit as a trainee in HR department. I have started my career and still working in HR & Administration department from last three years. During this three years career I was promoted two times from trainee to Junior Executive and currently working as an Executive. But the main confusion is that, I want to grow my career in Finance or in banking sector. Now I am very much confused about my future steps. I will be new to finance or banking sector if I leave the HR profile and my past experiences will not going to be calculated or if I stay with the same profile in future my degree will not going to be count by the recruiters.
Kindly advice and suggest.

Dear Dipu
You did not tell whether you are satisfied with your HR career or not? If you are earning degree in banking and finance then why and how did you get job in HR or if you were doing job before getting admission in MBA then why did you choose banking & finance as MBA major? please clarify these ponts.

Dear Dipu Barman,
This is in addition to what Mr Umm-E-Abdullah has said.
Starting career in Finance would mean starting on a clean slate. From the career point of view it may mean taking a step backward. Can you afford to do that?
Second option is to try lateral movement in the finance department of your current company. Try whether they accept you in finance with same salary.
Nevertheless, knowledge of finance is useful anywhere and everywhere. As you grow in Administration you could handle large projects. This may require purchase negotiations, purchase of capital assets etc For all this your background of finance should come handy to you.
Ok...
