You should obtain clearance certificate from the Old company for having surrendered/handed over the documents/assets, if any. Getting relieving letter before joining in a new company is always a good practice to avoid any complication which may arise any time.

Hi Preeti
You please check in your present company contract bond, If they mentioned anything that you should not join with their client company for 2 or 3 years after resigning from your present company.
You complete your present company resigning formalities and leave. That is always good. Either you get consent from your future company and request them to extend your date of joining or Pay a month salary as per the contract bond for immediate relieving.
