The letter should be simple and couched in nice, polite words
First give the Information about your plan to leave the job and the place where you will be moving, indicating your new position also
Thank your boss for his guidance, briefly mentioning some good qualities you liked in him (avoid flattery)
Thank your colleagues for their support and cooperation
Make a mention about any particular quality of the organization that you liked
Eg. The culture, the environment etc.the memories of which you would love to carry with you. Never criticize.
Mention that you would still like to continue to be in touch. You may also like to mention where you are moving to and may also give your new contact details
Wish the organization and it's people success and growth in the organization.
What ultimately matters is the relationship which should be valued.
These are some points which came to my mind. I hope this will help you.
