You need not revise or caliculate minimum wages. The State Government notifies minimum wages as per the category of the workmen like manual, skilled or unskilled etc and also as per the establishment in which they are employed namely Engineering industry or shops and commercial Establishments. You need to pay the appropriate minimum wages to the work men falling under the relevant category. The State government revises the minimum wages every six months in accordance with cost of living index Similarly the Central Government notifies minimum wages for establishments falling under the sphere of it's control.Hope this would clear the matter.

Dear Hima,
Every State in India has different Minimum Wages based on the category of employees. The calculation of Minimum wages varies from state to state. For eg. for some states like Chattisgarh , the daily minimum wage rate is given which we have to multiply with 26 days and consider the amount arrived at as Minimum wage.States like Andhra Pradesh give minum wages on the basis of Zones and category of employees. Zone I includes all metro cities and municplaties, Zone II comprises of smaller towns and Zilla Parishads and Zone III comprises of Panchyats,Taluks and Villages. This you have to remember and calculate Mininum wages accordingly.
For any further information pls contact me.

This is in addition to what Mr Saikumar has posted. Some state like Kerala, has notified MW with DA which changes every month with change in consumer price index every month . In such cases one has to find out the monthly CPI either from labor office or Gazette and calculate MW.Where MW has service weightage as a component that also has to be calculated at appropriate time.

Dear Mr. Sumeeth,
Could you please inform or attach the recent minimum wages hiked by the labour department of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Our unit falls in Zone III (Guntur District) and I understand that the minimum wages would be revised every 6 months and is for April 2013.

Dear Friends,
I am not able to get the Minimum Wages Details of Shops & Establishments in Andhra Pradesh. Previously AP Government used to maintain a web site and in that site I used get those details. But now this site is not working and it is becoming difficult to get the details.
