Hi, There is no maximum age limit for entry level, it all depends on the organisation HR policy.

Why not, if he is certfied medically to be physically and mentally fit and your company's policy is not opposed to it.you need to look into the company's reirement policy and recruitment policy.

There is absolutely no age bar if the person is medically fit.Organization to Organization policy for recruitment and retirement will vary.I have seen organization employing people 70,75 plus without any inhibition. What is important here that person should be able to deliver. At times, it is demand and supply position which may play a role which may make organization to adjust.

For appointment, every organization has the right to take a decision of its own. Who care if you appoint a labor at the age of 60 or even more than 60?

Dear Karthik,
You can employ anyone @ 60 or more years unless they are not fit.
Here you can take them as consultant or direct employee.
The employee can be covered under ESI if he is salary is less than Rs.15000. but in case of higher salary the ESI coverage is not applicable and most of the mediclaim policy don't enroll after 60 years nowadays.(Please check with your insurance company).
For PF you can contribute all the 24%(12% of the employee share & 12% of employer share) to the employee EPF account. No need to pay EPS since the employee has completed 58 years.

I advise taking a written consent from employees above 58 years stating that they willingly wish to work for the Organization. This is specially useful for. Old employees crossing the said age and still working in the Co.

Dear Bharath
This may help you
For the workmen age of retirement will be governed by "certified standing order" and in absece of certifed standing order "model standing order" .
You will not appoint anyone having age more than "prescrbed retirement' age,
However there are ways---you can hire him on fixed term contract/retainership etc.

As advised by my colleagues, please check your standing orders (or model standing orders)
There is a retirement age specified in it
You can not appoint a worker who has already crossed that age.
You can hire him in consultant or fixed term position
