Just wanted some opinion - is "Real World Knowledge" more appropriate than "Real World Insights" for CiteHR. What resonates with you more? Regards, Sid

Dear Mr. Sid,
Good topic to anticipate. Real world situations differs on the critical thinking essential for the being instances and livelihood.
Real World Knowledge:
Encourages any human to seek and interpret, accept and criticize. Feels like "I" can handle the worldly instincts on the basis of GUT feeling. They want to prepare themselves to start action. Ultimately while trying they choose the best elucidation.
Real World Insights:
Here the critical thinking synchronizes teh above. Rapid and delibrate situations occurs when actually applying.
Consequently, Real world insight and Real World Knowledge coincide each other and reciprocate.

Hello,
I prefer to distinguish between "knowledge" and "insights" as "knowledge" could stop at "information" level and "insights" will go deeper.
Insights can lead to evolution of new "concepts" but mere "knowledge" does not! Knowledge can be superficial but insights can never be superficial!
The present usage "insights" may stay!
Strictly my point of view on invitation please.

Dear Friends,
In my opinion Mr.Samvedan is right.
The word Insight goes beyond the knowledge,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it is the deed understanding of the concepts. It is the application of the gained knowledge in the practical situations. It works as a filter.............what is right or wrong
So the word Insight plese be stay.......

Thanks Sharmila, Samvedan, Ramesh, Vrushali,
We shall let this remain. Other than this what do you feel we could do to improve the feel of this community?
I am particularly interested in the understanding of the difference between Linkedin answers and Cite.co - what according to you is the biggest difference here?
Some of the main reasons in my opinion are:
* A close knit community feel - not the usual corporate rat race.
* A pursuit of knowledge and discovery.
* Real world problems shared by other members - not necessarily from HR.
* Really sensitive discussions are kept separate from the linkedin profile which is like a resume.
What else do you think is the differentiator - Anything else?

Sid

Hello,
A few more reasons could be:
1) The comfort level with citeHR where one feels the personal touch and finds it easy to relate.
2) The LinkedIn site by offering too many services, address book, discussions group, placement services and write ups of leaders (!) displays, to me, a confused and distorted focus.
3) There I also find greater pushy sales effort, too composite a stance for a learner or a novice to relate!
My view could be biased as more active(?) on this message board than the other one, but this is an opinion shared above!

Hi,
I think insight comes from wisdom. It is gained by experience, knowledge and thoughtful meditation. Knowledge alone has nothing to do with wisdom or insight. Insight has to do with taking all input and using the intellect to find connections and draw conclusions. Many people can memorize data and spit it back at you whether they understand the meaning and can extrapolate that meaning to draw conclusions that are valid is something else.
Hence, the "Real World Insights" is more appropriate. I am not that much active on LinkedIn in comparison to Cite Co. but surely look into the details and share my thoughts very soon.

Greetings,
This is to substantiate what Samvedan had mentioned. Recently, I represented Cite Communities at a summit for Mobile Application. One of the important insight , which got me thinking, was on Angry birds.
Angry birds have the largest user base, only because it doesn't need any manual. Usability remains self-explanatory, even though, the rules may change with every level , keeping the user- engagement unaffected .
This was quite insightful , because designing any service or a product stands defeated, if the users don't find it easy-to-use.
Culture comes next. LinkedIn is very job-focussed , hence offering it users newer jobs than learning.

Dear Sid,
Thank you for raising the query about the appropriate Tag for CiteHR. Though I knew that Knowledge, Wisdon, and Insight were hierarchical, I was not very clear about the relationships. Post by Samvedan and others cleared the confusion and also created an urge to search the web and get a good grasp about it. An anolgy from the field of education is the difference between an MD degree and a PhD degree. A person with MD has the knowledge which (s)he applies, whereas a person with a PhD is supposed to create new knowledge.

At #2: immerse yourself… « THE MINISTRY of INS!GHTS
I got more information about the 7-steps to insight that our members might find it interesting.
Though I have registered at Linkedin and I find it more useful for networking rather than seeking and giving help. However, I stand to be corrected. It takes a quite of effort to educate CiteHR members to search the site before seeking help for questions that have already been covered at CiteHR in the past.

Dear All,
"Real World Insights" more appropriate than "Real World Knowledge" but both are important for Real World....
Knowledge grows when you share, Insight is a gathering of open-minded individuals.
"Real World Knowledge" is hidden in "Real World Insights" ... I vote for both.
Difference between CiteHR & Linkedin :
I find CiteHR more professional than Linkedin. Linkedin doesn't have control over the Members Experienced/freshers/business etc. becoming like an advertisement portal, which is really good for Business People/Resourcing. But still it has got its brand in the market.
I always vote for CiteHR as my first priority as I am HR.
