Hello Mr Sudhir,
I am seeing your postings a year after you have posted them.
They are very informative and indicate novel ways of harnessing energy.
Perhaps readers may be interested to know (as recognised by various
State Governments as well as at the National level) there are other types
of enrgy more popular and vogue in India.
These include Bio Mass Regeneration, Wind and of course the Solar energy.
There are many installations all over India.
With technological development, we hope the likes of Solar Energy
will come to the rescue to meet the ever growing energy demands
all over the World.

Solar energy tapping is very popular in India. Earlier, the cost per MW installation was around 14 Cr but now it has come down to 7.7 - 8 Cr per MW. The cost per kwh is also down to Rs. 6/-. But the solar projects are land intensive.

Hello Mr Pon,
Nice to see your post after a long time.
Yes Solar does require land for locating heating surface.
However as rightly pointed by you there is a continuous
endeavour to bring the cost down.
Perhaps you may be aware that the biggest Solar power
project has been commissioned in Gujarat over the length of a canal.
Land is saved and water evaporation losses are minimised.
If the energy requirements are split as SOLAR HEATING and SOLAR POWER
then more applications can be found.
SOLAR HEATING for small local requirements is proven.
Small modules of roof top Solar panels
providing power to houses( below the roof)
are becoming popular in far East. These models will save
on distribution and transmission equipment to a large extent.

You are right. I’m in Solar Energy field. TN is one of the high radiation area which yields 5.6 kwh - 6 kwh/per sqm. But land cost is more. Pon
