prinzessin
why managers and professional employees ar typically covered by individual contracts rather than by collective agreements?

Usually job or contract terms are same only pay structure differ excluding different work nature. If companies have style of 'management by difference' it might use individual contracts but work and performance management is in favour of organization and proffessional growth as a whole and long term perspective.
Collective agreements ? may be applicable to groups following same terms with the employer.

Namaskar and hearty welcome prinzessin.
Collective agreements is a difficult proposition for any organisation whatsoever. Every one to enjoy veto power and decisions will be taken by 100% concensus Is an idea to be implemented. I left our exercise group because of competetive tendency to prevail by some. Started new one. Here in every respect every one enjoys veto power. Decisions are taken by 100% concensus. It is much bigger than the previous one. It is named as ZERO PATHOLOGY GANGA? It is swelling and going on well.
I shall be happy to hear if there can be any such experiments/experiences.

Managers & Professionals employees are covered by individual contracts for following reasons-
* Different job profiles
* Pay structure according to market conditions
*Different terms & conditions of employment comes into force as per the requirements..
Collective agreements is done for the set of employees who do same kind of work like workers in a factory...which Management would like to negotiate the wages on a whole rather than with the individuals...

hi prinzessin,
I too agree with what Rajat said, it is because in a company different individuals have different jobs, different job profiles and different designations.. and then it also depends upon the culture , it may not be transparent., due to which collective agreements is not always possible to implement...
