Let assume your CTC PA is 200000
then divided by 12 then u get Monthly CTC means 200000/12=16,666Pm
then you can considered aither 40 or 50 % of that CTC as Basic I.e., 16,666*50/100=8333 is your monthly Basic

Basic salary depends upon Grade/level of employee. It will differ from company to company. Every company has/may have a different slabs for various grades/levels of employees. Lower the grade lower is the basic salary. Basic salary may be 30% - 50% of gross/CTC.

Exact calculation of Basic Salary from CTC cannot be done untill and unless all the components of the salary be identified.
Taking a reference point of "Basic Salary", CTC is derived and not the other way round.

The components of CTC differ from company to company.There is no such specific compulsory %age to be deemed as Basic from the Gross or CTC. In case of Minimum wages we take Basic Approx. 80-95% of Gross, while in other case i.e. higher slab it may deemed approx. 40-50% of Gross.
