Dear Sneha
I am bit confused on LWP of 519. Can you explain What is that?
What ever the case your Gross and net falls under the slab of Rs. 9000/- to Rs 11,999/-
So PT is Rs. 150/-
If any clarifications you shall contact me

Dear Jeevarathnam ,
Thanks for your solution.
I have question that if employee join on 15th of any month means middle of month then the professional tax is calculated on gross or any other way.
LWP means Leave Without Pay and in my company its calculate on 26 days i.e excluding Sundays and Holidays.
please inform me is it legal to calculate salary on 26 days instead of 30 days .

Dear Sneha Nair
Irrespective of the days he worked PT is calculated on the total earnigs of that particular month. He/She may work either 10 days or full month. But you just see how much he/she earned.
Hope you are clear

Dear professionals
I still could not get a proper answer to the above query raised by Ms. Sneha.
If A person has a monthly salary of Rs. 9000/- (There are no deductions on account of PF ESI etc) which means gross annual income of Rs.1,08,000/-
As per the above slab rate given by Harshil Patel the PT to be deducted is Rs.150/- over next 12 months
In the month of June his salary has been deducted on account of Leave without pay for 4 days. So his earnings are Rs.7800/- only for that month. Now should the PT deduction be Rs.150/- for the month of June or Rs.80/-.
I am facing this problem as my Statutory auditors say that it should Rs.150/- while my point of view is that it should be Rs.80/-.
A prompt reply is appreciated.

Dear Ms. Mridul You are right. Normally PT is calculated on the actual wages drawn for that particular month
