Dear fellow members,
What are the actions taken against employees who doesnot fill the leave card (yellow card) on time. Every month end while processing salary we face this problem.
Just wanted to know what are the rules and actions taken by you as an HR.

If the employee not submitted the leave card with necessary entries and required approvals then you have to deduct the salary to that extent. In addition to this if the employee is not attending the duty with out intimation or atleast regularizing his absence on the day when he reported to duty then you can issue a letter for his unauthorized absence. If this continues for three times then issue a charge sheet, organize domestic enquiry for his habitual unauthorized absence. Basing on the enquiry officer findings initiate action like warning, suspension, stoppage of increment, demotion and finally termination.

As a HR guy you should find out his problem in getting his leave regularized, in some cases employees don't wants to approach their immediate superiors due to their attitude, misbehavior with their colleagues / team members, rifts etc., Before going a head with the disciplinery actions you should understand the criticalities of employees and arrest because any employee don't want to loose their salary / reputation after having leaves to their credit and don't want to be a indisciplined employee in the books of the management.

Pl. note that punishment comes next to correction.
