Termination is not that easy, you have to build file, you have to communicate properly to the employee about his mistake / non-performance / indiscipline etc and try to correct himself if not then only you can terminate his services.
If your company decided to get rid of him by paying one month notice then why don't you call him, tell him the decision, brief him the consequences and finally inform him about the readiness of the company to pay one month notice amount also and ask him to submit his resignation which is going to be a win win situation. Try this and be out of related issues.

As Mr. Kamesh said you should make a proper file and mentioned the all mistakes committed by him. In that you may mention the clause wise discipline action and against the organization. It would be better call him and explain it may be possible once he come to know about this situation he shall be given his resignation before company terminate to him

it is always advised to ask for resignation first. it is better for both the parties. if employee is not willing to resign and ask for termination letter then you have to be extra careful drafting such letters.

Here the reson of termination is not cleared as termination is not always for diciplinary action but it is also a part of company policy.
Termination/ Superanuation after attaining a certain age period.
So, if reason is clear than a termination letter can be drafted.

Sir, May i know why you are firing your employee? if he has something wrong than you must discuss the problem with him and if still he is not understanding than you should come to any decision.

Dear All,
Termination is part of HR work and termination notice can be served in terms of employment letter (All employment letters contain this clause).
In case the reason for termination is performance, it is advisable to have documentary proof of same as employee may seek legal recourse.
It is advisable to inform employee of impending termination as he may put in papers .

If any company decides to terminate an employee, you should have a strong reason for the same. A show cause notice is required to be issued 1-2 months depending on the company policy stating reason for the same.
from the date of show cause notice than you may terminate the employee. however employee has rights to defend himself if not proved guilty
