Dear Friends,
The best thing to do is to calculate the Kms a person travels during the month (you could base this on the average Kms travelled by the employee based on his fuel reimbursement claims for the last six months) and fix Litres of Petrol or Diesel as entitlement each month.
Example; If a person travels 100 Kms per month, and his car gives, say 15 kms per litre, then allow him 7 ltres of fule as his entitlement each mponth.
This will take care of frequent increase in the fuel rates and the need to revise the fuel reimbursement rates every now and then.

After the decontrol of fuel prices, esp, petrol, Oil marketing companies are making revision in the retail prices of petrol in periodical intervals in line with the import prices of crude oil. But the reimbursement charges are not being revised in regular intervals. Companies should revise their fuel reimbursement policies atlease a year once.
