Good Morning ALL!!!!!
Our company gave an increment to employees for the year 2010-2011 in 2011 ,after which the basic salary got increased .I want to know how to calculate PF arrears for both employees and employers for the Year 2010-2011.
Example:
X employee basic salary difference (Arrears) for the year 2010-2011 is 1000*12 =12000/-
Qstn:What will be the PF amount paid by Employee?
Ans:1440/-
Qstn:What will be the PF amount paid by Employers?
Ans:1440/-
ARE THE ABOVE ANSWERS CORRECT?

PLEASE GIVE YOUR SUGGESTIONS.....
Thanks
vikram

Hi Vikram, yes your answers are correct, but in the employer contribution you need to pay the Admin Charges also along with the arrears for the Year 2010-2011. Regards Siva Kumar

Dear Mr. Vikkybhati
Your calculations are very correct. For your easy understanding I am attaching the model PF Calculation and deduction xls file.
Hope it will make you to understand the calculation.
Eventhough it is arrears, you have to make the entry only on the month of payment.
All the best

Dear S. Bhaskar,
Thanks for replying ..But please clarify me the doubts in the attached file of yours.
The calculations?
BASIC 10,000
PF 1200 (@12%)
ARREAR BASIC 4000
PF 480 (@12%)
TOTAL BASIC 14,000
TOTAL EMPLYE PF 1680
TOTAL EMPLYR PF 1139 (@3.67%) ?
TOTAL EPS 541 (@ 8.33%) ?
I couldn't understood the calculation of Employer contribution i.e 14000 @ 3.67% will be 514 and EPS will be 1166 @ 8.33% of 14000..
PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG FOR THE ABOVE CONCLUSION...
THANKS

Dear Vikram
As per the latest policy the The EPS whatever we are contributing to that effect Government is also contributing subject to a maximum of Rs. 541/- i.e., 8.33% of Maximum Basic Wages fixed by the Government Rs. 6500/-.
Hence we are restricting the EPS to maximum ceiling of Rs.541 and the balance amount we are diverting the samein addition to the Employer's contribution 3.67%. Hence the variation.
Hope you can understand the concept.

hi..
i want to know how to calculate PF if the employees basic salary is reduced
..
for example if an emp was earning 10000 basic his pf contribution by employer would be 12% of basic i.e., 1200..
then if his salary is decreased to 5000 his pf contribution from employer should not be decreased from 1200 to 600.. that means employer ontribution would be 24% of basic ..
Then how should i proceed with it
please advice or give any good references
