The answer is NO , One need to complete 5 years in the organisation to get gratuity . You could have waited for one more month to be eligible for Gratuity

Hi,
As per the law a person who have completed 5 years continews service are eligible for Graduity or 6 months threeoff. It mean that if 6 month is balance for 5 years of services than also he is eligible for payment of graduity. i.e. 4 years 6 month onward upto 5years of services

Hi,
As per the gratuity act one should atleast put 5 years of continuous service for to be eligible to get the gratuity. However, the decision on period is a prerogative of the company to decide and announce. So just check with your HR department or Management.
