Dear All
Just go through the following link regarding the explosion in Domestic LPG causing one fatality. Also see the attached same news on TOI dated 27.12.2010.
One dead, two critical after cylinder explosion - The Times of India
The reason behind the same as per the report is the leaky pipe connected to LPG cylinder.
One doubt arise in my mind after gone through the news...
Why the fire not cut off from reaching into the cylinder?
Is there any arragement like NRV or Flash Back Arrestor in the Regulator of domestic LPG Cylinders? If not what best we can opt for safety in domestic LPG cylinders?
This can happen in any of our's home... So please share what the best we can do to avoid any such incidents in our day to day life...

Dear Dipil,
It is best to separate the gas cylinder from the place/point of usage.
This can best be done at the time of construction of your building. It then becomes like piped gas.
Of course it is also appropriate to use gadgets to cut off the flow of gas in case of leakage. This information may please be obtained from your LPG dealer.
Good luck.
