Hello, Should an old employee be allowed to rejoin the firm, is he liable for rejoining letter and if yes what should be the format of the letter? Best Regards, Prachi

keeping in midn the shortage of quality resources, many companies have adopted a "back on rolls" policy.
They encourage ex-employees to rethink on joining the organisation again.
However this policy varies from orgn to orgn. To keep it simple and attractive, here are a few tips:
- The re-hiring process for ex-employee who have left the organisation not more than 6 months back could be:
A performance feedback from his or her last manager. Based on the feedback, an offer can be made. The reference check, medical check etc procedures can be skipped. It should be treated as continuity of service and the period when he / she was not with the orgn can be treated as unpaid long leave.
- The rehiring process for ex employees who have left the organisation more than 6 months back can be that of normal hiring process except that he / she would have an edge based on their previous performance
There is no separate letter format for these employees.
Hope the above helps.

In this case the finance dept would need to hold on to the PF docs? In reality, an employee does not want to keep the PF amt pending but wants to withdraw that amount. Any solution to this case?
