Hi this was the trick question. You have asked by this question to describe your aim/goals and your career objectives so that they can judge your personality and your professionalism...so if you wud ask for the same in future you need to answer what you are in present and describe what you want to become in future...start with your career goals

you should have explained abt yourself and the roles & responsibilities which you are currently taking care of.

If they asked you " who are you" ; you could have asked them " well, What do you want me to be" or "What do you expect form me"
as simple as that...these are questions on which they would judge your personality/communication/ability/stress sometimes. it can be anything... i mean depends on the interviewer...he may take it as he needs.

The question was nothing but an alternate of "tell me something about yourself". But for "who are you", you have to talk something that defines your personality but diplomatically and the answer can be untrue also :). For such questions the answer should not be very lengthy but a short and precise answer is appreaciated.

Great question! If the sense of a question is not understood, instead of keeping mum in surprise, the situation has to be cleverly warded off to twist the question in answer shape. Just you would need to reply humorously in the same fashion the question was asked, like:
"I am not you, but I surely would like to become like you."

Its more or less the same as " Tell me something about yourself" but it needs more specific answer. You have to start with your stream of profession that you are holding now.... " I am a HR professional". Further it should continue with base and facts that build up the pillar for the post you have applied for.

nobody knows you better than youself.... so you are asked such question to tell every possible thing about yourself. BUT this is not as easy as it seems...because the interviewer actually gets the clue about your weakness and strength so be careful while answering this sort of question. Be diplomatic...
I hope u got it...

Hi
This is a tricky question rather than confusing. however, it is not as tight and tough to answer. There are more than one angle to answer this. You could try this.
Professionally - you could detail your education and experience
Personally - you could detail your personal background and
Spiritually - you could brief your spiritual point of view or you could answer that spiritually, there is lot more time to find who you are and at this stage you want to concentrate on your professional career.
Before answering it would be fine to know from the interviewer on which aspect they want to know whom you are and answer accordingly.
Handle with care as this sometimes appears as over smartness...!
All the Best!

@prkss-If the person interviewing you suddenly asks "Who Are U?"
Guess the person has just blown off his brains and cannot remember you. If possible you can remind him about the interview else maybe the interview is over and you can walk off.
