Rightly said by David Pritchard, director of recruiting, Microsoft - "The best thing we can do for our competitors is hire people of lowert quality". But ever thought how you would find the "right" quality or talent and HOW MUCH you would have to go through just to find this "right" talent.

Anyways, there's always few funny aspect of our job that add humour to our stressful work life. Here are few of my experiences while hunting for the so called "right" talent for my company - the questions I asked while interviewing a candidate and the equally amazing and extra ordinary responses I got from the other end of the table:

Quest.) While conducting a Group discussion, I instructed everyone to speak on any generic topic for a minute.....

Response) Well....I would like to talk on English Language.............................

English is a very good language. It has 26 alphabets like A,B,C, D,E...........X,Y,Z.

Out of these, 5 are vowels and they are A, E, I, O, U

The other 21 are consonents and they are B,C,D,F,G,H,J,K,L........X,Y,Z.

(And I was speechless........)

Quest) Tell me something about yourself.

Response) This gentleman provided me a fast forward of practically all that he had done in his 40 yrs on earth and 20 years of professional life - Until I politely interrupted him.

Quest) What was your role as a TSR? (This guy was working with a call center as a technical support representative or executive)

Response) Aeeiya !!!!You don't know the job of a TSR??????

(And this gentleman is still alive because MURDER is a crime in India)

Quest) Tell me something about yourself?

Response 1) I Have one mother, one father.........

(Excellent....You seriously have a unique family)

Response 2) My mother is a house wife. My father got retired and now he is also a house husband.

(WOW!!! New word for my Vocab)

Quest) Which is the world'd number one commercial bank?

Response) World Bank ofcourse

(Somebody...plssssssss help me)

Quest) Why do you want to join this company?

Response) Simply!!

(And I am zapped)

Quest) Are you ready to relocate?

Response) Yaa sure!! No problem!! You want to sit here???

(Wish I could relocate him to Andamans)

And here comes the king of all.....This question was actually asked to an IIM student ( Its not my experience but I heard it from my friend at IIM) and his response was truly WICKED yet OUT STANDING (Quite funny too)

Quest) What according to you is marketing?

Response) Marketing for me is to sell condoms in a girls hostel effectively.......

(and he GOT THE JOB actually )
