Hi,
I'm curretly working as Assistant Manager Training for a telecome company. I have recently given an interview in a finace based company and have got selected. Now this company has not given my offer letter yet, however I have got a confirmation mail from the HR which mentiones my joining date and salary breakup. They have asked me to treat the mail as an offer & have said that offer letter would be rolled out only on the date of joining. I'm totally confused.
Can somebody tell me if I should join this company only on basis of a mail or should I push for a hardcopy offer letter?

i think its fine, e mail is also considered as an proof, many of business transactions and correspondence are mail based, dont worry , be happy and proceed, but stress them for appointment letter within 1 week of joining

Hi,
Its a common practice these days to give the offer through mail. These companies give the appointment letter during the date of joining. These companies consider offer letter / Appointment letter to be the same. Meet the HR of the company & reconfirm . Probably you can get the HR signature in the mail print out if you feel its risky.

I would suggest that you tell them to take a print-out of the mail , get it signed & sealed & u'll collect it prior to ur joining. Request them that u want the confidence...as many of ur frnz have suffered this way & u dont want to be the one. I guess this will work out. You can try it out.
