Dear All,
Good news..
Recently the bill has been passed for ceiling of amount of gratuity up to 10 Lacks which was earlier 3.5 Lacks. The recommendation was already applicable in govt. undertakings ( recommended by 6th pay commission) now it will be applicable in Private also.

Payment of gratuity act is applicable to all factories/establishments having 10 or more employees.
For more information yo can look at Payment of Gratuity Act 1972. Its available on-line.

The proposal has to be presented in the Parliament in the form of a bill and has to be passed both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha before it becomes an Act. Till then, the existing Gratuity Act only is applicable.

Dear
Please clear me current gratuity amount cealing Rs. 3.5 L is for maximum gratuity amount or it is tax a free gartuity amount. Because it is not clear in Gratuity ACT. If any one has any notification for that please share with me.

as per the new sealing the maximum gratuity of 10lac is payable. does that mean above 10lac employer is not liable to pay?
