Hi,
I am trying to set up an HR dept for a company that's almost a 100 people. Any suggestions of how the ideal set up should be. How many people should be in the HR dept etc. The company has a heavy need for recruitment and since we are small, we need experienced people who can help with putting policies in place. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Ann

Hey,
First think about the budget approval you have got.
The most important, recruitment coming up in the next few months
Various resposibilites your team required to handle
And finally, how many you think you can manage.
Contact me if you need anything mroe specific, probably we can discuss in detail on that.
Thanks,
Krishna

hi ann,
as you will be needing experienced people you have to make 'buy' decision that is skilled people who can take over the job instantly but high cost invovlved in that.
after hiring key people, you have to design your policies, strategies and mission statement by brainstorming.
after that you proceed

The company is into Software Development and has been around for over 2 years. I have 1 person working for me who does general HR as well as recruitments. And i have just hired another recruiter.
I need an experienced HR who is well aware of laws ,regulations etc and also i see a lot of turn over and unrest in the company. I know HR should play a major role in tackling that but we are not able to do so at the moment.
Any ideas?

dear sir,
initially you have to face this situation, dont get upset with this.
in order to retain the employees have a big vision with you.accordingly design your policies and strategies.
big companies have a great culture.that only satisfies the ego need of the employees that they are working with a 'big' organisation.
initially you don't go for a 'quantity' of people but 'quality' of peoplewho will give a solid base to your organisation.

Hi,
I have personally done similiar work for somne of the satrt ups with the same capacity, which involved from strategizing bulk Recruitments to designing & implementing HR systems & procedures - setting up HR Department for the organisation.
There are some clarifications which I would like to understand before I can suggest :
1. What is the number of hiring needs in a month in the organisation & at what levels?
2. What are the sources used for hiring?
3. What is the budget allocated for recruitment?
4. What all main activites in other areas of HR, organisation thinks would be main focus areas?
May be I can help you...
Thanks,
Hena
